A Beautiful Story

There was a man with four wives. He loved his fourth wife the most and took a great care of her and gave her the best. He also loved his third wife and always wanted to show her off to his friends. However, he was always had a fear that she might runaway with some other man. He loved his second wife too. Whenever he faced some problems, he always turned to his second wife and she would always help him out. He did not love his first wife though she loved him deeply, was very loyal to him and took great care of him.

One day the man fell very ill and knew that he is going to die soon. He told himself, "I have four wives with me. I will take one of them along with me when I die to keep company in my death."
Thus, he asked the fourth wife to die along with him and keep company. "No way!" she replied and walked away without another word.

He asked his third wife. She said "Life is so good over here. I'm going to remarry when you die".

He then asked his second wife. She said "I'm Sorry. I can't help you this time around. At the most I can only accompany you til your grave."

By now his heart sank and turned cold. Then a voice called out: "I'll leave with you. I'll follow you no matter where you go." the man looked up and there was his first wife. She was so skinny, almost like she suffered from malnutrition.

Greatly grieved, the man said, "I should have taken much better care of you while I could have!"

Actually, we all have four wives in our lives.

a. The fourth wife is our body. No matter how much time and effort we lavish in making it look good, it'll leave us when we die.

b. The third wife is our possessions, status and wealth. When we die, they go to others.

c. The second wife is our family and friends. No matter how close they had been there for us when we're alive, the furthest they can stay by us is up to the grave.

d. The first wife is our soul, neglected in our pursuit of material wealth and pleasure. It is actually the only thing that follows us wherever we go.

What's wrong with the world??

Have been depressed since last few days, thinking and wondering about what's wrong with the world??

The Boston bombings, the Delhi rape of a 5 yr old ( this scares and disturbs me for 2 reasons,  I am an Indian, and a mother of a 5 yr old), the China earthquake....

Thankfully, the Boston situation has been handled, the suspects are under arrest. But the question lingers in all our minds, why a young 19 year old would do it? What could make anyone decide to intentionally harm innocent people ?

The Delhi case, a 22 year old man, tortured that child, what was wrong with him??  Why did he do what he did?? I am ashamed to be an Indian right now.  What kind of people are we, if we cannot protect our women and children. The police and government have arrested him, but will he be punished, so it is a lesson for other such sick minded people. What should we do to prevent such atrocities.  It just makes me sick......

How do you identify terrorists and rapists in a society???

Then the earthquakes, first in Iran, then China... Like Mother Earth is saying something, but we are not able to understand. In China, 180 people have already lost lives, and we still don't know how many more..

Feeling sad, and praying for all the souls who have left this world, and may they all be in a better place....

Hoard people not things

Our generation especially, loves to hoard things. We need the latest gizmos, clothes, bags, shoes, in every colour to stay on the top.  But we are going farther away from people and relationships.

Things can give us only pleasure, but people in our lives and relationships give fulfilment.

Choose wisely!

Few pics

There are some pictures, that you see and you go Woww.... Posting some pics here, not taken by me, but I found on the net while surfing, and ended up saving them... Hope you like them too...

This is a temple in India, which one of my friends had visited.

I love dragonflies, no specific reasons, but maybe because I have memories of playing and running after them in my childhood.  Apparently, there are characteristics associated with them as per animal symbolism. More about it, in another write up later.  But here I love the water effect and the dragonfly's translucent wings.

Love the effect of lights and colours in this picture....

Always aim for the sky

Even if the world says, it's impossible, even if your loved ones say that you are being unreasonable, but if in your heart you want it, go for it !!!! It is a life lesson, everyone should believe in.

It is also true, that not every dream will come true, not every goal will be attained, but we will live to know that we tried our bestest. If we don't believe we can reach the stars, we will never try. It is somewhat like the story of the elephants. The elephants were chained with a chain, when they were young, so they believed into their adulthood, that they cannot break the chain and be free. However, an elephant with its might and size can easily do so. But it was tricked into thinking the chain is still too strong. Similarly, if we chain ourselves into thinking that our dreams, aspirations and goals are too high and unattainable, we will never achieve them.

So always believe in yourself, and aim for the sky!!!

Have a great day! Have a great life!
